What are Crimp Beads?
Crimp beads are tiny seamless tube beads that are used to finish the loop ends of beading wire on a piece of jewelry. The best beading wire products are flexible woven steel cables. They are not designed to hold knots well. Instead, beaders secure the ends of their designs using crimp beads.
How to Use Crimp Beads
Once all your sterling silver beads are strung onto your beading wire, use these steps to secure the ends with a crimp bead.

How to Use Crimp Beads
Once all your sterling silver beads are strung onto your beading wire, use these steps to secure the ends with a crimp bead.
- Cut off extra beading wire but leave yourself at least a 2-inch tail to work with
- String a crimp bead onto the end.
- Then string on your cable thimble or closed jump ring attachment findings
- Loop your beading wire back towards your beadwork. Tighten the end loop so it is right against your cable thimble or closed jump ring. Don't leave a large floppy loop.
- Keep your beading wire ends parallel. Don't cross your wires!
- Snug all the beads together so you don't have any gaps in your beadwork.
- Use crimping pliers to firmly crush your crimp bead over the parallel beading wires
- Trim off your excess beading wire and tuck the tail into the last bead on your strand.
